Meet Sarah

Hello there!

I'M SARAH LEANA

I'm a wife and boy mom who's lived in the DFW area since I was a kid. My passion for photography started when I took my older sister's senior photos with and iPhone 5. I was just 15, but it started a little fire in me. That same year I decided to start my own photography business instead of heading off to college when I graduated. It was a huge decision for me, but I knew deep down that I had made the right choice.

Fast forward a few years and life drastically changed my plans. In 2017 I lost my dad (a nonsmoker) to lung cancer just six months after his diagnosis. I was only 17 at the time and my business fell to the wayside for a while. In the summer of 2018, I knew marriage was in the cards for me in the next year or so. I started working on photography again, but the spark that I had felt in the beginning was all but gone. It just didn't feel right after all the grief I had been through.

June 20th, 2019, I married the most handsome, loving, perfect-as-they-come guy on the planet. We were so soooo happy. Life started to look promising again in a way it hadn't for almost two years. Then just two months later, a most welcome surprise! Two tiny pink lines on a pregnancy test told me that yet another wonderful phase of life was beginning.

I had high hopes of working on photography while I was pregnant, but it took a lot out of me. I had a number of complications and constant physical discomfort that made it so hard to keep shooting. All this time I kept telling myself that the time WILL come when I will be able to work on this the way I want to!

April 20th, 2020, my sweet baby boy was born after 27 hours of labor. We named Him Lorimer after my dad. The first few weeks of motherhood were really tough, but as the hardest parts passed, and I began shooting again, I started to feel a little flutter that had been absent for so long. The spark that had begun my love for photography was back.

I am so excited to finally give my passion the attention it deserves. And I am so grateful for all the hard experiences that I have been through; they brought me here! I hope that you can see through my photos the love that I have, not just for my job, but for the beautiful people I get to work with. Pictures are a way to keep our memories alive. To look back on the good times, and the hard times. To remember where we came from so that we know better where we are going.

I would be so honored to be your photographer! Visit the "Book a Session" tab for more information and my pricing! I'm so happy to have met you!
